Atlanta Real Estate Agents
With its deep history and southern charm, Atlanta, Georgia is an epicenter for cultural and commercial activity in the south. From its role in the Civil Rights Movement to hosting the 1996 Summer Olympic Games, the Georgia state capital is an internationally recognized city and still continues to evolve. With so much cultural mystique, it’s no surprise that the demand for Atlanta real estate agents is constantly on the rise.
Originally inhabited by Creek and Cherokee Native Americans, Atlanta was opened to white settlement in 1823. The Georgia General Assembly recognized the need for a railroad and in 1836 construction began on the Western and Atlantic Railroad line to provide a trade route to the Midwest. Atlanta soon developed into a major military hub during the American Civil War and in 1864 became a major Union target resulting in many battles. After the war, much of the city was reconstructed and in 1868 officially became Georgia’s capital. Much development came with the turn of the century and soon created an ethnic and cultural melting pot of diversity. Despite racial tension, Atlanta has experienced progressive efforts in human rights and set a precedent for social reform.
Today, Atlanta is a vibrant city with much to offer its inhabitants and visitors. With its deep cultural roots, the city has developed into one of the most recognized music scenes with familiar artists of all genres including The Black Crowes, Ludacris and the Indigo Girls. Southern cuisine is another big draw in Atlanta – especially The Varsity – which is the largest drive-in restaurant in the world set on more than two acres and makes more than two miles of hot dogs a day. Atlanta’s sports teams also bring much attention to the city. Whether it’s a Braves home run, Falcons touchdown or Hawks slam dunk, Atlantans always get their fill of athletic competition year round.
It’s no secret that Atlanta is one of the most well known cities in the south, if not the entire United States. Its metropolitan area is ever-welcoming and embraces change and culture. It’s no wonder Atlanta is the most populous city in the state of Georgia. From its musical notoriety to championship sports clubs, Atlanta breeds a sense of achievement and strength that truly contributes to the city’s overall allure. Atlanta real estate agents continue to be widely sought after from persons of varied backgrounds and geographic locations. Regardless of the reason, Atlanta is a place where anyone can truly take advantage of what it is they are after.
